Material Harbor was founded in late 2024 by two brothers: Justin and Michael Foster. The Foster brothers have extensive backgrounds in the aviation industry, particularly in the engineering and manufacturing side of this global industry.
The idea of Material Harbor was conceptualized after the brothers found themselves working directly with the purchasing and supplier departments of the previous aircraft manufacturer they worked for. The company was struggling to deliver aircraft on time due to a huge backlog of raw material orders that were unable to be filled due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. Basic parts, such as sheets of aluminum or rivet fasteners, were unable to be delivered due to a wide range of effects on the suppliers. Because of this, the brothers were tasked with finding alternate solutions for these parts, using only a database of previously used suppliers.
Both Justin and Michael knew that there had to be an easier way to find materials in the manufacturing industry and the idea of Material Harbor was born.
