Material Harbor, LLC (referred to as “Material Harbor,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting the privacy of all visitors to our Website and our customers (referred to as “you,” “your,” or “User”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit or use our website, materialharbor.com (“Website”). It also outlines your rights and choices regarding your personal information. We endeavor to comply with all applicable privacy laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and relevant laws of the state of Georgia and other jurisdictions.
Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By accessing or using our Website, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to the practices described in this Policy. If you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy, you should not use our Website. This Privacy Policy is intended for a global audience and is written in clear, plain language to ensure you understand our practices.
1. Information We Collect.
We collect personal information and non-personal information from you when you use our Website, as described below.
a. Personal information. Personal information refers to any information that identifies you or can be reasonably linked to you. This may include:
i. Contact details such as your name, email address, telephone number, and mailing or billing address (for instance, when you create an account, make a purchase, or contact us).
ii. If you register on our Website, we may collect account details such as your username, password, or other credentials.
iii. If you make purchases, our third-party payment processor will collect your payment card details and billing information. We do not store full financial account numbers or credit card numbers on our own servers (except for basic identifying information to confirm payment).
iv. Any other information you choose to provide. For example, if you fill out a form, respond to a survey, post comments or reviews, or communicate with us directly, we will collect the information you share. This could include the content of your messages, any images or files you send, and other details you provide.
b. Non-Personal information and usage data. We also collect information that does not directly identify you but relates to your browsing device or usage of our Website. This is generally collected through automated means and may include:
i. Device and browser information such as your IP address, browser type and version, device type, operating system, language preferences, and display settings.
ii. Usage data such as details about how and when you use our Website, such as the pages or products you view, the dates/times of your visits, the referring page (the page that led you to our site), and your general geographic location (e.g., city or country).
iii. As explained further in Section 5, we use cookies, web beacons, and analytics tools to collect some of this usage data automatically.
Please note that some information that we consider “non-personal” (such as device identifiers or IP address) may be treated as personal data under certain laws (like the GDPR) if it can be linked to you. In all cases, we treat information as required by applicable law.
2. How We Collect Information.
We collect information from you in several ways:
a. Information you provide to us. You may give us personal information directly when you:
i. Create an account or profile on our Website.
ii. Fill out forms or fields on the Website (for example, signing up for our newsletter or requesting information).
iii. Make a purchase or place an order (providing details like your name, address, email, payment information, etc.).
iv. Contact us by email, phone, or through any contact forms (we will collect the content of your communications and any contact details provided).
v. Participate in promotions, surveys, contests, or interactive features on the Website.
In these cases, you know what information you provide because you actively submit it to us. You can always choose not to provide personal information, but doing so might prevent you from using certain features of the Website (for example, we need an email address to create an account).
b. Information we collect automatically. When you visit or interact with our Website, we (or our service providers) automatically collect certain information about your device and usage of the site. We collect this information through technologies like cookies, web server logs, scripts, and similar tracking technologies. For example:
i. We log details such as your IP address, pages visited, links clicked, the time and date of your visits, and other browsing actions on our site.
ii. We collect device information such as hardware model and unique device identifiers, if available.
iii. We may record information about how you reached our site (e.g., via a search engine or a link in an email).
This automated collection helps us understand how users engage with our Website and allows us to improve user experience. (See Section 5 on Cookies and Section 6 on Google Analytics for more details).
c. Information from third parties. On occasion, we may receive information about you from third-party sources, but only where we have lawful grounds to do so. For example:
i. If you choose to register or log in via a third-party platform (like signing in with Google, Facebook, or another service), that platform may send us certain information about you with your consent, such as your name and email address.
ii. If someone refers you to our products or services (for instance, via a referral or “invite a friend” feature), we may receive your email address or other contact details to send you an invitation or information. We will only use such information for the purpose it was provided to us (to send the invite or referral message).
iii. We might also receive demographic or preferences data about users in aggregate from third-party analytics providers, advertising partners, or social media platforms, which we use to better understand our customer base. This information is typically not used to identify any individual.
We protect any information obtained from third parties according to the practices described in this Privacy Policy, plus any additional restrictions imposed by the source of the data.
3. How We Use Your Information.
We use the information we collect about you (both personal and non-personal) for various business purposes, in compliance with applicable laws. These purposes include:
a. To provide and maintain our services. We use your information to operate our Website, fulfill your orders and requests, process payments, ship products, and provide you with the services and features you choose to use.
b. To personalize your experience. We may use your information to tailor content and recommendations on our Website to your interests, remember your preferences (such as language or region), and generally customize your experience with Material Harbor.
c. To communicate with you. We use contact information (like your email or phone number) to send you account confirmations, invoices or receipts, updates about your orders, responses to your inquiries, and administrative messages. If you have opted in to receive marketing communications, we will send you newsletters, promotions, or offers that may interest you. You can opt out of marketing emails at any time (see Your Rights and Choices below).
d. To improve our website and services. We analyze usage data and feedback to understand how our Website is used and to make improvements. This helps us troubleshoot issues, test new features, develop new services, and enhance functionality and user-friendliness.
e. For analytics and research. We use data (including Google Analytics data as described in Section 6) to study user behavior and market trends. This informs our business decisions and marketing strategies, enabling us to serve you better.
f. To enforce terms, prevent fraud, and comply with laws. We may use your data to enforce our Terms of Service or other agreements, to detect and prevent fraud, security incidents, and other malicious or illegal activity. We also use information as necessary to respond to legal obligations, such as fulfilling lawful requests from authorities, complying with applicable regulations, or defending legal claims.
g. With your consent. If we ever process your personal information for a purpose that is not covered above, we will explain it to you at the time we ask for your information and, if required by law, obtain your consent.
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, we only process your personal information when we have a valid legal basis to do so. The legal bases under the GDPR for processing your data include: (i) when you have given consent (for example, for receiving marketing emails or certain cookies not strictly necessary); (ii) when processing is necessary to perform a contract with you (for example, to deliver products you ordered or create an account at your request); (iii) to comply with a legal obligation (such as keeping records for tax purposes or responding to lawful requests); and (iv) for our legitimate interests (such as improving our services, securing our Website, and communicating with you as a customer), provided those interests are not overridden by your fundamental rights and freedoms. Where we rely on consent, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time (this will not affect processing already occurred). Where we rely on legitimate interests, we have balanced those interests against your privacy rights.
4. How We Share Your Information.
We understand the importance of your personal information and we are careful about how we share it. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their own marketing or profit. We only share your information in the following circumstances and with appropriate safeguards:
a. Service providers. We may share your information with trusted third-party service providers who perform services on our behalf. These include, for example: payment processors, shipping companies, email service providers, web analytics companies, customer support tools, or IT/cloud hosting providers. These service providers are given access to the information they need only to perform their specific functions, and we contractually require them to protect your information and use it only for our purposes, consistent with this Policy.
b. Legal obligations and safety. We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid legal requests (such as a subpoena, court order, or government investigation). We may also share information when we believe in good faith that such disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organizations for the purposes of fraud protection and credit risk reduction, to the extent permitted by law.
c. Business transfers. If Material Harbor is involved in a merger, acquisition, bankruptcy, or sale of all or a portion of its assets, your personal information may be transferred to the successor or acquiring entity as part of that transaction. We will ensure that any such entity is bound to protect your information at least as diligently as we do, and we will provide notice on our Website (and/or via email, if feasible) before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
d. With your consent or at your direction. We may share your personal information with third parties when you direct us to do so or when you have given us your explicit consent. For example, if you opt-in to a co-branded promotion, or request that we share your details with a partner company, we will do so with your permission. You have the right to revoke that consent at any time.
e. Aggregated or de-identified information. We may share information that has been aggregated (combined with other data so it no longer identifies you personally) or de-identified (stripped of personal identifiers) with third parties for research, marketing, analytics, or other purposes. Such information cannot be linked back to you and is not considered personal information under this Policy.
Material Harbor does not and will not “sell” personal information as defined under the CCPA (i.e., we do not exchange your personal data for monetary or other valuable consideration to unrelated third parties). We also do not share your personal information for targeted advertising purposes without your consent. In the event this ever changes, we will update this Privacy Policy accordingly and provide applicable notices and opt-out mechanisms as required by law.
5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies.
Our Website uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to improve your browsing experience and to collect certain information automatically (as described in Section 2.b above). A “cookie” is a small text file that is stored on your device when you visit a website, which helps the site remember information about your visit.
We use cookies for various purposes:
a. Essential cookies. These are used to enable core site functionality (such as keeping you logged in or remembering your shopping cart).
b. Analytics cookies. These are used to understand how visitors move around our site and measure the performance of our marketing efforts (see Section 6 on Google Analytics).
c. Preference cookies. These are used to remember your settings and preferences.
d. Advertising cookies (if any). These are used to deliver relevant ads or content, although at present we do not use third-party advertising networks on our site.
For detailed information about the cookies and tracking technologies we use, please refer to our separate Cookie Policy (available on our Website). Our Cookie Policy explains what cookies are set, their purposes, and how you can control or delete them. You have the option to adjust your browser settings to refuse cookies or alert you when cookies are being sent. However, if you disable or reject certain cookies, some features of our Website may not function properly.
Some web browsers offer a “Do Not Track” (DNT) feature that lets you signal your preference regarding tracking by websites. As there is not yet a consistent industry understanding of how to manage DNT signals, our Website currently does not respond to these signals. We continue to monitor developments around DNT and may update our practices as standards evolve. Regardless, we treat all user information in accordance with this Privacy Policy, and we do not alter our data collection practices when we detect a DNT signal from your browser.
6. Google Analytics and Online Analytics.
We may use various analytics tools and services, including but not limited to Google Analytics, to understand how users interact with our Website. These analytic tools and services use cookies and similar technologies to collect information about use of our site, such as your IP address, browser type, pages visited, time spent on pages, and referring website. This information is transmitted to and stored by the analytic services on their servers (which may be in the United States or other countries) and is used to evaluate site usage, compile statistical reports on Website activity, and provide other services related to website activity and internet usage.
We use the insights from these analytic services to understand website traffic, troubleshoot performance issues, and improve our content and navigation. The data we receive from these analytic services is mostly aggregated and does not identify you personally. However, because these analytic services may collect your IP address, it could be considered personal data under certain laws. To protect user privacy, we will configure our these analytic services accounts to anonymize IP addresses where applicable. We do not allow these analytic services to use or share our analytics data for their own purposes beyond providing us the analytics service.
Our primary analytics service at present is Google Analytics. Google Analytics sets its own cookies to remember users and to measure interactions on our site. These cookies have names like _ga, _gid, etc., and they persist for different durations (some for 24 hours, some for 2 years, etc.). These cookies allow Google to distinguish unique users and throttle request rates. For more details on how Google Analytics cookies work, you can visit Google’s support site or our Cookie Policy.
If you do not want Google Analytics to collect information about your visits, you can take steps to opt out. Google provides a Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-on that you can install on your web browser. This add-on prevents the Google Analytics script from sharing information about your visit with Google Analytics. You can obtain this add-on (and learn more about how it works) at Google’s official site (usually at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout). Additionally, you can disable cookies in your browser (see Section 5 above) to limit tracking.
Please note that even if you opt out of analytics tracking, you may still see generic, non-personalized content or suggestions on our site. Also, opting out via the browser add-on is specific to Google Analytics and does not affect other features like essential cookies.
For more information about how Google collects, uses, and processes data, please see Google’s Privacy Policy. By using our Website, you consent to the processing of data about you by Google as described here and in Google’s policies. If you have any concerns about our use of Google Analytics, you can contact us using the information in Section 15 (Contact Us).
7. Data Security.
We take the security of your personal information seriously and employ reasonable security measures to protect it. Material Harbor implements administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to secure your data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. For example, we use HTTPS encryption (SSL/TLS) to protect data transmitted on our site, we restrict access to personal data to authorized personnel and contractors on a need-to-know basis, and we maintain firewall and intrusion detection systems to guard against external attacks.
However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please understand that any data you send to us (or that we send to you) over the Internet is at your own risk.
We also urge you to take steps to protect your own information. If you create an account on our Website, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials (username and password) and for restricting access to your account. Do not share your password with anyone and notify us immediately if you suspect any unauthorized access to your account or any breach of the Website’s security. We recommend that you log out of your account and close your browser after you finish your session to help ensure others do not access your account.
By using our Website, you acknowledge that you understand these risks and that, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Material Harbor shall not be held liable for any unauthorized access to or loss of personal information that is beyond our control. In the unfortunate event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you and the appropriate authorities as required by law.
8. International Data Transfers.
Material Harbor is based in the United States (specifically, in the state of Georgia), and the personal information we collect is primarily processed and stored on servers located in the United States. However, we have users and operations across multiple countries. If you are located outside the United States, please be aware that your personal information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States or other jurisdictions where our facilities or our service providers are located. These countries may have data protection laws that are different from (and in some cases, less stringent than) the laws of your country of residence.
Regardless of where your data is processed, we will handle it in accordance with this Privacy Policy and will take appropriate measures to ensure that your personal information remains protected in line with the standards of your home jurisdiction. When we transfer personal data out of the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or other regions with data transfer restrictions, we will implement appropriate safeguards as required by applicable law. This may include:
a. Standard contractual clauses. We may use the European Commission’s approved contractual clauses (and the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, where applicable) in our agreements with recipients of EEA/UK personal data to ensure that they commit to providing an equivalent level of data protection.
b. Adequacy decisions. Where applicable, we may transfer data to countries that have been deemed by relevant regulatory authorities (e.g., the European Commission) to have an adequate level of data protection.
c. Consent and other lawful bases. In some cases, we may rely on your explicit consent to transfer your data, or the transfer may be necessary for the performance of a contract with you, or for the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims.
You have a right to obtain details of the mechanism under which your personal data is transferred internationally. If you would like more information about our international data transfer practices or need a copy of specific transfer agreements (such as Standard Contractual Clauses), you can contact us using the information in Section 15.
By using our Website or providing us with your information, you consent to the transfer of your personal information to the United States and other jurisdictions as described above, under the understanding that we will protect it as described in this Policy.
9. Your Privacy Rights and Choices.
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information. Material Harbor is committed to honoring your rights and providing you with choices about your data. Below, we outline the rights that individuals in various jurisdictions have, and how you can exercise them.
a. Rights of individuals in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, and similar jurisdictions (GDPR). If you are located in the EEA, UK, or other jurisdictions with similar data protection laws, you have the following rights with respect to the personal data we hold about you (subject to certain legal exceptions):
i. You have the right to request confirmation of whether we are processing your personal data, and if so, to request a copy of the data along with information about how we use it and who we share it with.
ii. You have the right to request that we correct or update any inaccurate or incomplete personal information we have about you.
iii. You have the right to request that we delete your personal information, provided there is no lawful reason for us to continue processing it (for example, we might need to keep certain data to comply with a legal obligation or in connection with a contract with you).
iv. You have the right to ask that we limit the processing of your personal data in certain circumstances – for example, if you contest the accuracy of the data or if you object to us processing it on the basis of our legitimate interests, we will consider temporarily restricting processing while we address your concern.
v. You have the right to object to our processing of your personal information when such processing is based on our legitimate interests, including objecting to direct marketing. If you object, we will stop processing your information for that purpose unless we have compelling legitimate grounds to continue (e.g., a legal requirement) or if the data is needed for legal claims.
vi. You have the right to request a copy of certain personal data that you have provided to us in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format, and you can ask us to transmit that data directly to another data controller where technically feasible. (This right applies to data processed based on your consent or where necessary to perform a contract with you, and only where the processing is carried out by automated means).
vii. If we are processing your personal information based on your consent, you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time. For example, you can opt out of marketing emails by clicking the “unsubscribe” link, or you can withdraw consent for non-essential cookies via our Cookie Policy settings. Withdrawing consent will not affect the lawfulness of any processing we conducted prior to your withdrawal.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at admin@materialharbor.com with the subject line “Privacy Rights Request” and let us know which right you wish to exercise. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling your request (to protect your privacy and security). We will respond to your request within the timeframes required by the GDPR (generally within one month, unless the request is complex or numerous, in which case we may extend by an additional two months with notice). There is no fee for making a request, unless it is manifestly unfounded or excessive, in which case we may charge a reasonable fee or refuse the request.
Additionally, if you believe our processing of your personal data violates the law, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a Data Protection Supervisory Authority in your country. For example, if you are in the EU, you can contact the supervisory authority in the Member State of your habitual residence, place of work, or where the alleged infringement occurred. We would, however, appreciate the chance to address your concerns directly before you do this, so please consider reaching out to us first.
b. Rights of California residents (CCPA/CPRA). If you are a resident of California, you are protected by the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) of 2018, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) of 2020. These laws provide California consumers with specific rights regarding their personal information. Subject to certain exceptions, if you are a California resident, you have the following rights:
i. You have the right to request that we disclose the personal information we have collected, used, disclosed, and (if applicable) sold or shared about you over the past 12 months. This includes the categories of personal information, the categories of sources of that information, the business or commercial purpose for collecting it, the categories of third parties with whom we share it, and the specific pieces of personal information we hold about you.
ii. You have the right to request that we delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions. For example, we may retain information needed to complete transactions you’ve requested, to detect security incidents, for legitimate internal business purposes (like debugging or accounting), or to comply with legal obligations. If we must retain certain data for a reason allowed under CCPA, we will let you know.
iii. You have the right to request that we correct inaccuracies in your personal information, taking into account the nature of the information and purpose of processing. We will take appropriate steps to correct it if we verify your identity and the request.
iv. As noted above, Material Harbor does not sell your personal information to third parties. We also do not share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising without your consent. Because we do not engage in these activities, we do not offer a “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link at this time. If this changes in the future, we will update our site and Privacy Policy to provide such an option.
v. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights. This means we will not deny you goods or services, charge you a different price, or provide a different level of quality of service just because you exercised your rights under CCPA. However, please note that if the exercise of your rights limits our ability to process your personal information (for example, if you request deletion of certain data), we may not be able to provide you with certain services that rely on that information. We will inform you if such a situation arises.
To make a request to exercise your California rights to know, delete, or correct, please contact us by email at admin@materialharbor.com with the subject line “California Privacy Rights Request” and clearly describe the nature of your request. You may also send your request to us in writing at the mailing address provided in Section 15 (Contact Us) below, Attn: Privacy Team. Under CCPA, you may make a request through an authorized agent; however, we will need to verify the authenticity of the request and the authority of the agent.
For your protection, we will take steps to verify your identity before fulfilling a CCPA request. This may involve asking you to provide information that matches information we already have on file (such as confirming specific details of past transactions or communications). If you have a password-protected account with us, we may verify your identity through our existing authentication procedures for that account. If a request is submitted by an authorized agent on your behalf, we may require proof of the agent’s written permission from you to make the request and we may still ask you to verify your identity directly.
We will respond to verifiable consumer requests within the timeframe required by law (generally within 45 days, with an extension of an additional 45 days if reasonably necessary and with notice). If we cannot fulfill some part of your request, we will explain the reasons in our response.
In addition to CCPA rights, California’s “Shine the Light” law (Civil Code Section § 1798.83) allows users of our Website who are California residents to request certain information regarding our disclosures of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. However, Material Harbor does not share personal information with unaffiliated third parties for their own direct marketing purposes without your consent. If you still wish to learn more about any such activities, you may send an email to admin@materialharbor.com with “Shine the Light Request” in the subject line, and we will respond as required by law.
c. Other regions. If you are located in certain other states or countries, you may have similar rights under applicable privacy laws (for example, Virginia, Colorado, or other U.S. states have privacy laws coming into effect, and countries like Canada, Brazil, Australia, etc., have their own rights). We aim to respect requests from individuals to access, correct, or delete their personal information, regardless of residence, to the extent feasible and required by law. If you have a privacy request pertaining to your personal data and your jurisdiction is not explicitly listed above, please contact us and we will try to accommodate your request as required by applicable law.
d. Managing your preferences. Beyond formal legal rights, we provide all users with certain choices about their personal information:
i. You may update or correct your account information at any time by logging into your account (if you have one) and editing your profile or settings, or by contacting us.
ii. You may opt out of marketing emails by clicking the “unsubscribe” link included in every promotional email we send. Note that even if you opt out of marketing communications, we may still send you transactional or account-related messages (such as order confirmations or responses to your inquiries).
iii. You can opt out of analytics and targeted advertising as described in Section 6 (Google Analytics) and Section 5 (Cookies).
iv. If at any time you wish to deactivate your account or have us delete your information, please contact us using the information in Section 15, and we will handle your request as described above.
We are committed to enabling you to exercise control over your personal data. If you have any questions or need assistance with exercising your rights or choices, you can always reach out to us at admin@materialharbor.com.
10. User Responsibilities and Limitation of Liability.
a. User responsibilities. In using our Website and services, you bear certain responsibilities to ensure the protection of your own privacy and that of others:
i. If you choose to provide personal information to us, you agree to provide true, accurate, current, and complete information. This helps us communicate with you and provide services without interruption. If any of your information changes (such as your email address or phone number), please update it in your account or notify us so we can update our records.
ii. If you provide us with personal information about someone else (for example, if you are purchasing a product to be delivered to someone other than yourself, or if you refer a friend to our service), you are responsible for ensuring you have the authority or that person’s consent to share their personal information with us.
iii. You agree to use our Website in accordance with our Terms of Service and not to misuse it to harm others or violate anyone’s privacy. Do not upload or submit any personal information that you do not have the right to share. Avoid posting sensitive personal details about yourself or others in public areas of the site.
iv. As noted in Section 7, you are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. Always use a strong, unique password and guard it carefully. If you suspect that your account or information has been compromised, contact us immediately.
b. Limitation of liability. While we are dedicated to safeguarding your information as described in this Policy, it’s important to understand the limits of our liability:
i. We strive to keep our systems and Website up-to-date and secure. However, Material Harbor shall not be held liable for any damages, losses, or liability arising from the unauthorized access to or use of your personal information in the event that, despite our security measures, a breach of our safeguards occurs and is caused by factors outside our control (such as cyber-attacks, security failures that we could not reasonably prevent, or mistakes/lapses by a user or third party).
ii. In no event will Material Harbor be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to this Privacy Policy or our use of your information, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
iii. Our total liability for any direct damages shall be limited to the amount, if any, that you have paid to us for use of our services, or as otherwise mandated by law (some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you specifically).
Nothing in this Privacy Policy is intended to limit any rights you may have under data protection laws or other laws that cannot be lawfully limited. However, by using our Website, you agree that you are using it at your own risk and that you will not hold Material Harbor responsible for any unauthorized access or loss of personal information that occurs despite our reasonable security measures or due to your failure to adhere to the user responsibilities above.
11. Third-Party Links and Services.
Our Website may contain links to websites, apps, or services that are not operated by Material Harbor. For example, we might link to social media pages, partner websites, or external resources for your convenience and information. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that third party’s site.
Please note that we are not responsible for the privacy practices, data collection, or content of third-party websites or services. If you provide any information to those third parties, such information is directly provided to the owner of that site/service and is subject to their privacy policy. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party site or service you visit or interact with.
This Privacy Policy applies solely to information collected by Material Harbor through our Website and services. When you leave our Website, this Policy no longer governs. We do not endorse or make any representations about third-party websites. If you have questions about how those sites use your information, you should contact them directly.
12. Children’s Privacy.
Our Website and services are not intended for children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly solicit or collect personal information from children under 13 years old. If you are under 13, please do not use the Website or send any information about yourself to us (including your name, address, phone number, or email). If we learn that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take prompt steps to delete such information from our records.
For teens between 13 and 16 years old, we recommend that you seek your parent or guardian’s permission before providing any personal information to us, and in any case, only use our Website under supervision if required by applicable law. Some jurisdictions may impose higher age thresholds for certain data collection; we intend to comply with applicable laws regarding children’s privacy (for example, GDPR sets the age of consent for data processing at 16 in some EU countries, unless lowered by member state law).
If you are a parent or guardian and you believe we have collected personal information from your child in a manner not permitted by law, please contact us (see Section 15) and we will promptly investigate and address the issue, including deleting the information or seeking any necessary verifiable parental consent.
13. Changes to This Privacy Policy.
We may update or revise this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technologies, legal requirements, or for other operational reasons. When we make changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this Policy. If the changes are material, we will provide a more prominent notice (such as by posting a notice on our Website’s homepage or emailing users who have provided an email address) to inform you of updates.
We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about how we are protecting your information. Your continued use of our Website after any changes to this Privacy Policy constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms (to the extent permitted by law). If you do not agree with any updates or modifications, you should stop using the Website and services and, if desired, request removal of your data as outlined in Section 9.
